A sneak peak into some of the natural cleaning products I use in my home.
Being I'm a Healthy Fit Girl, I really like using natural things as much as I can! While no-one's perfect (especially me) I really care about what were eating and breathing in. I just do my best. My hubby on the other- hand tries to cover up if he’s feeding the lawn or something like that because it makes me nuts! Baby steps right. (The bag states keep pets and kids off the lawn for 24 hours! That’s not good!) But all kidding aside there can be serious side effects when it comes to harsh chemicals like, allergies and respiratory problems. So be sure to read lables.
Any-who wanted to share a few things about what I'm using.... White vinegar in particular. I use it for so much and this gallon bottle is like $3.00! White vinegar has so many uses and don’t worry the smell goes away within minutes. But its deodorizes, everything from food smells, think dishwasher or bottom of trash cans. I re-use spray bottles I already have to make a water and vinegar spray for the butcher block island and wood cutting boards (chefs tip). I also use a mixture of water, rubbing alcohol and vinegar to do glass and stainless steel. Vinegar and water also works just fine!
While I’m no expert on making homemade cleaning products, I just google things if I want a homemade recipe (I’ll share some links at the bottom). Also I would love feed back on Healthy Fit Girls Fan Page if your loving something please share! I would also love to learn more about Pure Castile natural soap. I use it in the shower at the moment- feels great on my tired muscles. Method products are available everywhere and I love their stuff! While clean does not have a smell... these have a wonderful smell! I broke up with needing to have that toxic smell in my home!! Method’s packaging is awesome, they have refill bags so less waste! Recycle old tee shirts they make great cleaning rags.
I have been using baking soda in the wash for some time (Borax is another wonderful natural cleaner) and now I’m the baking soda using to clean the ceramic cooktop. Baking soda and peroxide makes a nice toothpaste. I also use baking soda in the sink to scrub the stainless along with vinegar.
I have tea tree oil in a spritz bottle with some water to clean my yoga and gym mats. Its a natural antiseptic I also use it all over my body! I love the stuff! Lice hate it by the way. Just be careful to patch test if using on the body or scalp, this oil can be harsh for some. Those with tree nut allergies beware.
So have fun... buy some pretty spray bottles if needed, your home will be less toxic and more earth freindly an truly clean. Now get cleaning!!
